A British filmmaker has been killed in Syria by so-called Islamic State( IS) boxers, the BBC understands.
Mehmet Aksoy, 32, from London, who studied filmmaking at Goldsmiths, University of London, toured from the UK to Syria in June.
He affiliated the Kurdish militant group, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units( YPG ), and originated documenting its debates against IS.
The Foreign Office has been contacted for comment.
Aladdin Sinayic a close friend of Mr Aksoy’s from London, told the BBC: “Mehmet never pushed, the project was never to fight.
